Traditional Worship Leader


Reporting to the Senior Pastor, the primary responsibility of the Traditional Worship Leader will be to produce all traditional worship services at Our Savior Lutheran Church. General duties for this staff role include:

 Weekly Worship

          Develop weekly worship.

          Plan and coordinate all music and service flow for Sunday traditional worship services that will serve to enhance the message, atmosphere and worship theme.

          Plan hymns for weekly Sunday services as well as special services throughout the year (i.e. Christmas Eve, Lent, Maundy Thursday, Easter, etc.)

          Plan, direct, rehearse bell choir and adult choir.

          Play organ/piano for all services.

          Oversee scheduling of piano and organ tuning/maintenance

          Hire guest musicians when needed.

          Ideal candidate should have a passion for Traditional worship services, and experience with hand bells, choral music, and organ skills

          Oversee the scheduling of the worship components including instrumentalists, vocalists, choirs.

          Occasional wedding and funeral services paid additionally.

The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Dunedin, FL is seeking a part-time Organist/Choir Director to work in conjunction with the Rector to oversee all musical aspects of our worship life.

The Organist/Choir Director will be responsible for leading worship services while playing the organ and/or Clavinova, for directing the choir, and will have a leadership role in continuing to develop and enhance the current music program.

Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Spring Hill, Florida is seeking a part time (10 hours per week) Contemporary Music leader for the 9am Contemporary worship service. Responsibilities include worship planning with the pastor, playing the piano / keyboard, recruiting volunteer instrumentalists and singers for the praise band, and conducting weekly rehearsals.  Interested persons should contact the church at 352 683-9016.

St. John's Episcopal Church, 1676 S Belcher Rd., Clearwater, FL 33764, is looking for a part-time music director.  We have a vocal choir and bell choir that love to make a joyful noise for the Lord . Instruments include a 13-rank Reuter pipe organ and a Yamaha baby grand piano.  Our worship covers a wide range of music styles, from traditional hymns to contemporary music.  We also have a volunteer praise band composed of parishioners who occasionally play during worship. (It would be desirable for the music director to encourage and support their ministry.)  Familiarity with Episcopal liturgy preferred.  Position includes one Sunday service and weekly rehearsals plus music for weddings, funerals and special services such as Christmas. St. Clement’s Episcopal Church, 706 W 113th Ave, Tampa, 33612, is in need of one or more substitute organists starting Sunday, February 5th, 2017, until the position is filled. The Sunday Service is at 10.30 a.m. The instrument is a small two-manual Casavant pipe organ in excellent condition. The fee per Service is $175.00.

Grace Lutheran Church at Carrollwood, a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, is seeking candidates to fill the position, Director of Traditional Music. This part-time position (15 hours/week) will be primarily responsible for the coordination of the Traditional Worship Service (8:30 a.m.) and the direction of the 25-member Chancel Choir. Our 450-seat sanctuary is an outstanding acoustical space and we are richly blessed to have a 19-rank Zimmer pipe organ, a 2-manual Glenn Giuttari harpsichord, and a 1913 Steinway grand piano. The position will report to the Senior Pastor and will have supervisory responsibility over the Director of the Handbell Choir and the Church Organist.
